Investor Activity On GPW Group Markets – October 2017

The total value of trade in equities on the GPW Main Market was PLN 21.3 billion in October 2017, representing an increase of 29.6% year on year. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book increased by 29.3% year on year to PLN 20.4 billion and the average daily value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 927 million in October 2017, an increase of 23.4% year on year. The WIG index stood at 64,866.57 points at the end of October 2017, representing an increase of 32% year on year.

The total value of trade in equities on NewConnect decreased by 13.1% year on year. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book on the GPW alternative market was PLN 91.1 million, a decrease of 13.7% year on year. The incremental value of trade on the Electronic Order Book on NewConnect was PLN 1,168.7 million year to date, representing an increase of 16.1% year on year.

The total volume of trade in derivatives was 533.2 thousand contracts in October 2017, representing a decrease of 5% year on year. The volume of trade in index futures was 289 thousand contracts in October 2017, representing a decrease of 3.7% year on year.

The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 92.4 billion at the end of October 2017 compared to PLN 80.3 billion at the end of October 2016. The value of trade in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst decreased by 19.9% year on year to PLN 235.6 million in October 2017.

The total value of trade in bonds on TBSP was PLN 59.9 billion in October 2017, representing an increase of 61.6% year on year.

The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 13.2 TWh in October 2017, representing an increase of 9.9% year on year. The volume of forward transactions in electricity increased by 13.2% year on year to 11.1 TWh in October 2017.

The total volume of transactions in natural gas was 15.7 TWh in October 2017, representing an increase of 78.6% year on year. The volume of trade on the forward market increased by 115.9% and stood at 13.9 TWh.

The volume of spot and forward transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)[3]was 3.6 TWh in October 2017, representing an increase of 30.1% year on year. The volume of trade in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) was 48 ktoe[4] in October 2017 compared to 36.7 ktoe in October 2016.

The capitalisation of 427 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 677.77 billion (EUR 159.48 billion) at the end of October 2017. The total capitalisation of 477 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market was PLN 1,408.4 billion (EUR 331.41 billion) at the end of October 2017.

The company CWA was newly listed on NewConnect in October 2017. The value of its IPOs was PLN 12.4 million.
